Autumn Term 2018

Mrs Wright has been putting Ruby Class through their paces in PE. The children have been working on different ways of travelling: like common animals, using basic footwork patterns and then demonstrating this on the apparatus. They are working so hard and really enjoying themselves. Next week…the large apparatus!!

We have been making diva lamps as part of our topic on Diwali. We used clay to make thumb pots, checked the hole would fit a tea light and then decorated them with lines & marks made using tools.

We learnt that Diwali means ‘row of lights’ and talked about how important diva lamps were at the end of the Rama and Sita story.

As a class we have been learning about the Hindu festival of Diwali. We started by reading the story of Rama and Sita. We then talked about the ways this festival is celebrated. Diwali is like Christmas in many ways. It is called the Festival of Light. We did lots of different activities linked to Diwali. Take a look at the pictures of us making hand patterns and lanterns.
