On Thursday 6th December, all of the Juniors took part in an intra-school cross country competition. Instead of houses competing, we had girls versus boys. The aim was for pairs of children to get the relay batons around the course as many times as possible in 12 minutes. It was great fun, with all children pushing themselves and showing lots of determination and teamwork. The boys were victorious with 126 laps completed to a very respectable 114 from the girls. Well done to everyone!!
On Friday 23rd November, the whole of Diamond Class made the journey to Mount St Marys to attend the cross country event. It was typical cross country weather and conditions: mud, drizzle, mud, cold and more mud!! Every single one of our children ran their hearts out to complete the challenging course around the fields. Well done to everyone… you were all stars!!
On Monday 19th November, Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 made the short journey to Chesterfield Panthers Rugby Club to take park in the Mega Fest. Despite the chilly, damp weather, the children enjoyed the range of small games and activities on offer. Well done to all children for their efforts throughout the afternoon.
On Wednesday 17th October 2018, 12 of the Year 5 & 6 pupils went to the English Institute of Sport for the annual Bronze Young Ambassador Conference. The aim of this day was to allow the children to become familiar in their new roles as Travel, Health, Sport and Media Ambassadors. As you can see they had an amazing time and we look forward to seeing their ideas and events throughout the year.
During the second week of the Autumn term, pupils from Year 3 and Year 4 took part in their Level 1 Bikeability course. This involved the children navigating their way through a range of cycling challenges in the playground. Thank you to the Bikeability team for a fantastic couple of afternoons.
Congratulations to everyone in school. We have just received confirmation that for a fourth year in a row, we are a Gold school in terms of the sport and PE that we deliver. A massive thank you to all of the staff and children who have made this possible!!
