Well done to all of the Year 6 children on their amazing Viking games that they produced as a homework project for the topic ‘Were the Vikings always vicious?’ The variety of games made was incredible: Monopoly to Chess, Dominos to Snakes & Ladders to name a few. It is wonderful to see such great care and pride being put into their work – an attribute which will help immensely next year.
On Thursday, Y6 continued their Topic work on Vikings and Scandinavia with some pastel art work on the Northern Lights. They used the different faces and edges of the pastels and smudging to build up the different effects.
Year 6 on World Book Day!!
A range of characters were recreated from a variety of books : The Three Musketeers, Where’s Wally?, Characters from Dork Diaries, Assassin’s Creed, Harry Potter, The Worst Witch, Oliver Twist, Minnie Mouse and Spooks.
In PE, Purple Class have been learning about the Paralympic Sport of sitting volleyball. Lessons were spent shuffling around the floor, developing core strength and then learning a range of volleyball techniques such as digging, setting and smashing. All pupils also took the lead as umpires towards the end of the unit. As always this is a fantastic opportunity for children to learn something completely new and also apply skills from other aspects of PE and sport – plus it gives the hall floor a good polish!!
