Pupil Premium

What is Pupil Premium?

The Pupil Premium Grant, which is additional to main school funding, is designed by the Government to allow publicly funded schools in England to address the current underlying inequalities between children eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) and their peers, by improving their progress and results.

It was first introduced in April 2001 and ensures that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the pupils who need it most.
