As part of British Science Week, Year 1 and 2 have been exploring flight. We made paper aeroplanes, gliders and helicopters and then predicted which would travel for the longest distance and time. In most cases our results surprised us, as we were unaware of how far the glider would fly. During this week, we also started our new science topic all about plants.
In March, Emerald Class started a new gymnastics unit on tucked, tall and wide . The children started off on the floor demonstrating a wide range of shapes before taking to the apparatus, where they demonstrated this through travel, balance and jumps.
On Wednesday 6th March, Emerald Class completed some Great Fire of London art. They learnt how to create flames by blending oranges, reds and yellows. They then looked at the shapes of buildings and created black buildings to go in the foreground of their work. Look out for their art on display soon.
