Forest Schools
What is Forest Schools?
Forest school is an inspirational process that offers all learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment with trees.
It is a holistic learning process, with children being given the freedom to explore their surroundings through a theme or activity led by the Forest school leader.
Forest Schools has a proven record of increasing children’s confidence, self-esteem and sense of well-being. This has also proven to have increased concentration and attainment in the classroom setting.
All of our children access Forest School at a different point throughout the academic year. Our fully trained and experienced Forest School Teacher is Mrs Tokunaga, who works with all of the Junior children. Our qualified Forest School Teacher, Mrs Jess Allen, works with all of our Infant children.
Mrs Jess Allen also runs a Forest Schools After School Club alongside a holiday club in the school holidays.
